["Walker Laurence" reveals to Jessica that he's Todd]
Jessica: So, what are you saying?
Todd: I'm saying that I'm Todd. I know it's weird. But Mitch nearly beat me to death, and so I didn't have many options. I had to have surgery, or I had to have surgery.
Jessica: But why would you lie?
Todd: Blair.
Jessica: Oh, yeah.
Todd: Aren't you glad I'm not dead?
Jessica: I just missed you.
Todd: I missed you, too.
Jessica: Well, don't you go away again because Mom and I really need you.
Viki: Yes, we do.
Jessica: I just want you to be happy.
Todd: Happy? Yeah, me, too. Me, too.

[Jessica learns that Blair has accused Todd of raping her]
Jessica: Blair, I -- I know that he -- he looks like Walker, but the Todd that I know, he really loves you. He will never hurt anybody again like that. He felt so bad after what he did to Marty. So -- you just need to talk to him, okay?

[Todd fires Evangeline and decides to start representing himself in the middle of his trial]
Evangeline: This kind of ego trip never goes over well with a jury or the press, if that's what you're banking on. They always see the guy who represents himself as some sort of crackpot!
Todd: Why are you still here?
Jessica: Todd, please, Evangeline can help you. She saved Antonio’s life, and -- and I don't want you to go to prison.

Jessica: Asa and Renee are having -- well, they're having this party for Kevin and Kelly’s new baby.
Todd: Uh-huh. Guess I didn't rate an invitation.

Jessica: Todd, can you do me a favor and just don't do anything to upset her [Viki]? Especially just not right now.
Todd: Who, me?

[Jessica is trying to get Viki to do yoga]
Viki: Jessica, I couldn't do that if you paid me.
Jessica: I know, but we have to get you into shape --
Viki: Ugh.
Jessica: So just try to get into that stretch one more time, and breathe this time.
[Todd comes into the room]
Todd: Stop this. You're going to kill her.
Viki: That's ridiculous!
Jessica: Please, it's just yoga.
Todd: (to Viki) I got you a personal trainer. Now, call him.
Viki: I'm a little busy.
Jessica: See? I'm not the only one who cares about you.
Todd: I'm just trying to be the nagger rather than the nagee for once.
Viki: Oh, my Lord, has it really come to this?

[Jessica worries about joining "The Banner-Sun" while Todd is in charge]
Jessica: I guess me working there might increase the odds of him doing the right thing.
Viki: It might, yes. You have a very unique gift for believing in him that not a lot of people share.

[Viki's loved ones are trying to decide whether or not to tell her that the heart for the transplant is Ben's]
Kevin: (to Todd) You know what? No one cares what you think, all right? If it wasn't for my mother, you wouldn't even be accepted as part of his family.
Jessica: Kevin, stop it. He is very much a part of this family and his opinion does matter.

Jessica: Hey. Mom made it through surgery. So far, everything seems to be ok.
Todd: I told you she was tough.

[The twins see Todd and Blair out rollerblading]
Natalie: Todd and Blair, skating together?
Jessica: Guess you never know with those two.

Todd: (about Kevin) If he wants war, he's got it.
Jessica: Oh, come on, Todd, what are you going to do?
Todd: Don't worry about me. I've been doing this a lot longer than Kevin has. I just hope people in your family are going to be around to mop him up after I'm done with him.

[Jessica and Todd wonder how Kevin got Natalie to vote with him on "The Banner-Sun"]
Jessica: I think that Kevin manipulated her by saying that it was -- he didn't want to stress Mom out.
Todd: Oh. He's using Viki’s heart condition to throw a punch at me? That's great. So what's next? Killing kittens?
Jessica: Listen, I don't think it's that bad, but -- I don't know. He's definitely not himself. I don't know what's wrong --
Todd: Oh, no, this is himself. That's the real Kevin. Sorry you had to meet him.

Todd: All right, I’ll get on the phone; see if I can round up some more votes. There's got to be a few shareholders that don't hate me.
Jessica: Well, good luck with that.

Natalie: I really don't see what the big deal is about Kevin trying to protect the family from Todd. All Todd does is hurt people, including mom.
Jessica: That's not true, Natalie. That's not true at all.
Natalie: Oh. Oh, "It's not true." Did you totally forget about Cristian and myself? Todd was just going to get us both killed; throw me to Mitch to protect Blair. No big deal.

[Tico and Jessica are trying to come up with a seating arrangement for the Heart Gala]
Tico: So, what do you think if we seat your mother's brother, Todd, and his wife over here at this table?
Jessica: No. We can't -- Asa Buchanan. You can't sit him there unless you want a World War III.
Tico: Well, I give up, then.
Jessica: Yeah, it's kind of hard to sit Todd and Blair -- well, anywhere.

[Todd has used the newspaper to smear Kevin]
Jessica: Well, why do you keep on doing this? Oh, did you even get a quote from Kevin at all?
Todd: Well, he'd yell at me if I did that.
Jessica: Listen, look, I know that Kevin has changed a lot lately, but to imply that he somehow caused this judge's fatal accident?
Todd: No, that's just one of many conclusions the reader may draw.

[Todd is convinced that Kevin is up to no good]
Todd: Well, my people are working on it, and they're going to come up with something.
Jessica: Really? Because no reporter at "The Banner" thinks there's an ounce of truth to any of this.
Todd: Well, that's a surprise, isn't it? You should switch papers, come work for me, I think.
Jessica: What, you're offering me a job at "The Sun"?
Todd: It's a pretty good idea, isn't it?
Jessica: Why? Because it would make Kevin angry?
Todd: Yeah. Yeah, it would make him a little scratchy, wouldn't it? But mostly I'd be hiring you because you're good, you got integrity, you're smart, and I want to see you on the right team when this thing falls apart. What do you say?

[Todd tells Kevin, Tico and Viki that Jessica is leaving Kevin and "The Banner" to go work for "The Sun"]
Tico: (to Jessica) Why didn't you tell me you took a job at "The Sun"?
Jessica: I didn’t. I was just offered a job.
Todd: You said you'd consider it.
Viki: Is that true, Jessie?
Kevin: Well, I'm sure he's wooing her like crazy. Why wouldn't he be? She's one of our best reporters.
Todd: Is that why you've got her on the powder-puff beat?
Jessica: You guys, come on, let's not get into it here, ok?
Todd: Should I take that as a rejection?

Todd: Listen, Jessica, just for the record, I didn't offer you the job just to stick it to Kevin. That is a perk, but I'm trying to assemble a top team, and I want you on it.
Jessica: Thanks, Todd.

Todd: (about Jessica) I offered her a job at "The Sun."
Blair: What? Oh-ho-ho-ho-ho. You just want her to be the one to stick it to Kevin, right?
Todd: No, I -- no, I think it's because she's good, a good journalist. And I like her. I don't like very many people.

[Jessica accepts Todd's job offer]
Todd: Welcome to “The Sun."
Jessica: But let me tell the family.
Todd: They're all yours. Why don't you stop by the office tomorrow, we'll get you started.

Viki: Have you decided to leave "The Banner" and work for "The Sun"?
Jessica: I'm sorry, Mom. I wanted to be the one to tell you before somebody else did.
Viki: Well, no, that's fine, but you're not going to dig up anything on your brother.
Todd: There's always guilt by association.

[Todd offers Jessica an assignment investigating Tico]
Todd: Well, you want to take this assignment?
Jessica: Yeah.
Todd: Ok, good. Be careful, please. Viki will kill me if you get so much as a scratch.

[Todd informs Antonio that Jessica is investigating the Santi organization]
Antonio: What the hell's the matter with you? You can't put her in that kind of danger.
Todd: Antonio, I think Jessica’s a big enough girl to make her own decisions. I think she's smart, I think she's a good reporter. I think she'll be careful. And really, what do you care anyway? You guys aren't going together now. Didn't she dump you for your brother?

Antonio: If you want to keep Jessica safe, you'll keep her away from the Santi’s.
Todd: I can't tell Jessica what to do. She smells a good story, she stays on it.

[Todd worries for Jessica's safety]
Jessica: Listen, I'm going to find out the truth about my husband, so I’m writing this whether you print it or not, so you might as well just run with it, ok?
Todd: Just be careful.
Jessica: Wait, wait, wait. Todd? Why -- why'd you come by here?
Todd: Oh, I'm just checking up on my favorite niece.

Todd: (to Jessica and Sonia) Hey, I got to go see Blair, but do you think you guys are going to, like, go at it or anything? Cat fights turn me on.
Jessica: No, Todd, we're not.
Todd: Oh.
Jessica: Sonia and I will be fine.
Todd: You're sure?
Jessica: Yeah, but thanks -- thanks for worrying.
Todd: Worried for her, maybe.

[Todd places a phone call ordering flowers for Jessica's hospital room]
Todd: Yeah, I want you to fill my niece's room with flowers. I don't care. I want every flower in Llanview in her room when Jessica wakes up. No, don't make it look like a funeral, you smart -- ugh. I'm crazy about that kid, that's why. She's the only one in my family that I can stand anymore.

Viki: That was Todd who called to invite me to his and Blair’s wedding -- tonight.
Jessica: Why'd they move it up?
Viki: I don't know, and I was afraid to ask.
Jessica: Maybe it's better not to.
