NASH & JESSICA 2005

[Nash tracks down Jessica in Llanview and mistakes her for Tess]
Nash: Tess, come here. Look, trust me, all right? You can talk to me. Are you in trouble?
Jessica: My name's not Tess.
Nash: You're not Tess? That -- that is amazing. That's amazing. I mean, you look like Tess, you sound like Tess. I'll bet you feel like Tess.

[Nash is unaware that Jessica has temporarily taken control back from Tess]
Jessica: What are you looking at?
Nash: You. I'm looking at you. Who are you?
Jessica: Who am I? I -- I'm --
Nash: You're like two totally separate people. I mean, you're so sure of yourself, but afraid of shadows, and you're a worldly woman who hasn't been around. It's confusing. I never know who I'm going to be with, so who is it, Tess? Who am I -- who am I with today?
Jessica: Uh --
Nash: Oh, it doesn't matter. I can see the sky in those eyes. I love you. I love all of you. All right? And I meant what I said earlier, okay? I'm not going to let anything happen to you. All right? Whatever happened in the past, it's -- it's the past, all right? It can't touch us. All right? There's nobody else, Tess. It's just us. Okay?

[Nash has tracked down Jessica at Antonio's loft]
Antonio: Get out.
Nash: Not without my Tess. (to Jessica) Look, I know you're freaking out. I'm freaking out, too. We'll work it out.
Jessica: Nash, I --
Nash: Look, I know what's going on. I know you're going to have my baby.

Nash: Come on, let's go.
Jessica: No, no one is taking me anywhere.
Nash: (reconsidering) All right, yeah, you're a strong woman. You're right. Want to play this out? Let's play this out.

Jessica: I need a moment with Antonio.
Nash: Why?
Jessica: Please.
Nash: I don't like it. I -- all right, fine. I'll go out that door, but just two steps. And if I hear so much as a whimper from you, I'll bust the damn thing down, all right?

Nash: Tess -- um -- I screwed up. I'm sorry. I told you I didn't want this kid, that I wasn't ready, but, I mean, it was just me being me, us being us. You know, no strings, no complications. It was total crap.
Jessica: No, that's not it.
Nash: I didn't know that you were pregnant. As soon as I did, I thought it was great. Okay, I can't wait for us to bring up our child. Look, I -- I should have told you that. I'm sorry. I let you down.

Jessica: Antonio, Tess went to the clinic. But the thought of -- the reality of having a baby made me strong enough, and when I figured out what Tess was trying to do, I ran away.
Nash: Trying to do? Tess, why are you referring to yourself in the third person?

[At the hospital, after Nash has learned about the DID]
Jessica: And -- that guy, Tess' boyfriend, Nash, I -- is he here?
Clint: Yeah, darling, he is here.
Jessica: I just -- I think that I should see him.

[Nash comes to see Jessica in the hospital room]
Nash: I take it this means you know who I am.
Jessica: We've met a couple of times.
Nash: Yeah.
Jessica: I know that you care about Tess a lot.
Nash: I love her. I love you.
Jessica: I'm sorry. You don't know who I am. I -- the woman that you were with -- she's not real. She only existed because I was sick, and -- and once I get well, she'll be gone.
Nash: Everyone keeps telling me that.

Jessica: As for you and Tess, I -- I just think that it would be better if you pretended like you never met her.
Nash: I see Tess in you. Oh man. She knows I love her. She loves me, too. I don't want to get in the way of you getting better. I'll go.
Jessica: Thank you.
Nash: But as for forgetting about you -- how could I forget about the best thing that ever happened to me?

Jessica: (to Natalie about Tess) She's always trying to take over, to take control. She's always there. I mean, even right now when I was -- dreaming, I was dreaming about her and about Tess and Nash.

[Jessica runs into Nash at the gym]
Jessica: I don't want to talk about the baby now.
Nash: What do you want to talk about?
Jessica: Tess. I want to know about her. And I want to know why it is that you're in love with her.

Nash: It is really hard for me to look at you and not see Tess. You got to know it has taken everything I've got not to just grab a hold of you and hug you and kiss you and touch the small of your back where you got that little scar shaped like a lightning bolt. I'm making you uncomfortable, aren't I?
Jessica: A little bit, yeah.

Nash: Tess, she likes to run free.
Jessica: Yeah, free to get drunk and sleep with tons of guys.
Nash: Kind of, yeah.

Nash: I've always had big dreams -- a wife and a family of my own if I found the right woman. Tess was that person. That kid -- it wasn't planned. It threw both of us for a loop, but I never doubted it was exactly what I wanted. Tess, too.
Jessica: Tess wanted to settle down?
Nash: We had the same dream. I'm not going to lie to you, Jessica, I'm not going to let go of that. And I'm sure that somewhere inside of you, Tess isn't going to let go of that, either.

Jessica: Nash, could you just promise me something?
Nash: Depends what.
Jessica: During Tess' and my integration, if she comes out and comes running into your arms, do you promise not to let her run off with you?
Nash: Jessica, I want you to get better. I do. But, hey, I mean, if you and Tess are integrated, maybe -- maybe you'll be running off with me, too.

Jessica: I want your word.
Nash: I promise.
Antonio: What's he promising you?
Jessica: That if Tess comes out, he won't run away with her.
Antonio: And you believe him?
Jessica: Yes, I do.

[A somewhat drunk Nash sees Jessica alone outside of Capricorn]
Nash: Tess?
Jessica: I'm not Tess. I'm Jessica.
Nash: I'm sorry. I just thought that -- wow. You're not Tess. Tess would never look at me with fear in her eyes. She knows I'd protect her with my life.
Jessica: Listen, I'm sorry about the way that antonio treated you inside. I know that you were just trying to be thoughtful. But for the record, I don't like lime in my soda.
Nash: Wow. Tess does.
Jessica: Yeah, that's so weird.
Nash: Yeah. She's also a more confident dancer. I'm telling you, we should go hit the dance floor. You got to see how she moves, how you can move --
Jessica: You're confusing me for her.
Nash: Yeah, I guess I am. Hey, maybe this will clear up any confusion, though. (he kisses her)

Jessica: Nash?
[Jessica wakes up and realizes Antonio heard her saying Nash's name]
Jessica: Please, please, forget that I said that. I was -- I was having a dream and I -- I just said his name. But you have to know you are the only man in the whole world that I want to be with. You know that, don't you?
Antonio: Yes. I do know.
Jessica: Thank you.

Nash: You really want this baby, don't you? Yeah, you just look so ready.
Jessica: Actually, I already, um, had a child, a little girl -- Megan.
Nash: You had a child?
Jessica: I got hit by a car when I was pregnant. She didn't make it.
Nash: Uh -- I'm sorry.
Jessica: Ever since I lost her, it's been like there's something missing in my life. That's why this baby is everything that I've ever wanted.

Jessica: You're a really nice person, Nash. I'm sorry that we didn't meet under different circumstances.

Jessica: I know how much you must miss Tess.
Nash: The worst part is I -- I might never see her again. But when I'm sleeping, I dream that -- I dream that she's calling for me, but when I wake up, she's not there. Then I see you. You've got her hair, her eyes, her lips. (he kisses her)

[Nash apologizes for the kiss]
Nash: Jessica, I'm sorry. I just -- I couldn't help myself.
Jessica: Okay. I know. I understand, but don't do it again.
Nash: Fair enough. But I'm not going anywhere.

[Nash drops by Llanfair]
Jessica: Nash?
Nash: I still can't stay away. I don't supposed there's any chance you're Tess?
Jessica: No.
Nash: Could I come in anyway?

Jessica: (to Antonio) Nash scares me, scares me because of what he means to Tess.

Jessica: I'm calling Nash.
Antonio: Why are you doing that?
Jessica: I just don't want him to catch me off-guard. That could let Tess out. I just want to be ready.

Antonio: You were hoping that was him on the phone. Nash. You were hoping that he would call.
Jessica: I was hoping that Nash was ok, that nothing had happened to him.
Antonio: Oh. Oh, is that Jess talking, or is that Tess?
Jessica: No, it's not Tess. Can't you tell?
Antonio: Well, not when you're showing so much concern for Nash.

Antonio: (about Nash) Look, the guy's a flake.
Jessica: That's not fair. You don't even know him.

Jessica: Nash, are you going to be ok?
Nash: I miss Tess.

Jessica: Nash, I'm sorry that we barged in on you.
Nash: You don't have to apologize for anything. Not ever.

Jessica: (to her pregnant belly) Don't worry, I'm not going to let anybody take us away from your daddy.
Nash: Even if the daddy is me?

Nash: That baby may be making you stronger, but it does not mean that I am not --
Jessica: Don't say it. I already know.

Jessica: Nash, I'm sorry, I -- I really am sorry that you got messed up in this whole thing, but you have to understand that Antonio and I are going to raise this baby.
Nash: Not if that's my child, you won't. There's no way in hell that I'm letting anyone else bring up my kid.

Jessica: I can't believe that you want to bring the law into this. Antonio just got -- he just got through with one custody battle. How can I put him through another one?
Nash: Well, Antonio should be worrying about his child. I am going to worry about mine.
Jessica: Nash, this baby is the whole world to me, and if Tess comes out again --
Nash: If Tess comes out again? Don't you mean "when?"
Jessica: Is that what you're waiting for?
Nash: Of course it is.
Jessica: Well, how can you live like this, waiting for a moment here and there for Tess to take control? How can that be satisfying for you?
Nash: None of this is in the least bit satisfying for me. But I'm not going to stop fighting for Tess. I love Tess more than I have loved any other woman, ever. I owe it to Tess and I owe it to myself.

Niki: You know what? I can give you what you want. I can give you Nash!
Jessica: What?
Niki: Yeah! You know you want him. Deep down inside, you want him.
