QUOTES ABOUT NASH
From Dena Higley (Former Headwriter of OLTL)
"Nash is...a man with a dream, and when Tess first meets him, it looks like
he is a player. But he's not. This guy has got the savvy, the smarts, the
determination and the looks. He slays the women, he's charming and debonair...but
he lacks the pedigree." -- Dena Higley (then-headwriter), SID 6/21/05
(on casting the role of Nash) "We were getting down to the wire in
casting the part. In fact, we actually had to slow the story down because
we didn't have a Nash! I had to come up with a few extra beats in the story
to stall. We were pulling waiters out of restaurants, asking if they wanted
to audition." -- Dena Higley (then-headwriter), SID 4/11/06
"Nash is a one-woman guy, and that's part of the problem. He really wishes
that he didn't have this myopic vision that there is only one woman in the
world for him and he can't have her." -- Dena Higley (then-headwriter), SID

From Susan Gammie (OLTL Costume Designer)
(about Nash's wardrobe on the show) "I think he is great looking also.
And I think we can dress him [accordingly]. We don't really know very much
about him, other than he's clearly a striver. He obviously wants to make
a lot of money but isn't there yet, but desperately wants to fit in. And
I think he's trying very hard to look like he fits in." -- Susan Gammie (OLTL
costume designer), SOW Online summer 2005
"It's such a Nash thing to wear suspenders. There's something about Nash
that has a slightly retro leading-man quality." -- Susan Gammie (OLTL costume
designer), SOW 11/14/06
From Kerry Butler (Claudia)
"He doesn't show it often, and Jessica may not want to see it, but Nash does
have feelings for Claudia. He showed it after her father died and in the
pier scenes...Of course, he was drunk then. He's really nice to her when
he's drunk!" -- Kerry Butler (Claudia), SID 11/21/06
(on the Claudia/Nash relationship) "I like the chemistry between them
when they're both being honest. Those are the times when I understand what
they must have had that messed her up so badly when he dumped her. So I'm
kind of rooting for her to get a grip and for him to fall in love with the
new-and-improved Claudia all over again. I know, I know, that's probably
a pipe dream." -- Kerry Butler (Claudia), SID 11/21/06
From Others
"I was originally up for Nash. I didn't get it and I was crushed. Then Nash
(Forbes March) comes on and I'm watching. Every scene is Nash comes out in
a towel, Nash gets naked, and Nash makes love (laughs)." -- Josh Casaubon
(Hugh) SOW Online 9/27/05
(about Nash) "He and I have only had one scene together, but we should
hang out at the bar and throw back some beers together. Well, Nash would
drink wine, but yeah." -- John-Paul Lavoisier (Rex), SID 1/31/06
(on one of the biggest surprises of 2005) "I knew they would like
Nash, but I didn't think they would like him as quickly as they did. The
response to Nash was overwhelming, right off the bat, from the get-go." --
Frank Valentini (executive producer), SOD 3/21/06
"I don't know how far they're going to take [Nash's drinking problem]. [With]
everything he's going through, I don't blame him." -- Kamar de los Reyes
(Antonio), SOD 11/21/06
"Forbes won't even let me put a brush in his hair. Nash is Nash. He's the
rebel." -- Laurie Cacioli (OLTL hairstylist), SOW 11/14/06
(describing Jared and Nash's final fight) "In the hallway outside the ballroom, Nash punches Jared. One thing leads to the next and that's the beginning of the end for Nash." -- John Brotherton (Jared), SOD 6/10/08
(on his decision to kill the character of Nash in 2008) "Look I love Forbes, and I love the character of Nash. It really was a story decision. You know when you have 30 people, and it's a show about real life, people live and people die. It was hard to write, and it was hard to watch them tape, but it is something that happens in life. ... This was a decision that was collectively made, and you will see that a lot of story does come out of it. But it's not a decision that is ever taken lightly. [The characters] are like all my babies, and I hate to lose one of them. This is nothing I am taking any personal joy in. ... I know there are people who love him and hate to see him gone. But we did make the decision to kill the character." -- Ron Carlivati (headwriter of OLTL), SID 6/16/08
(on how Jared reacts after Nash's death) "He's determined to make things right. He can never bring Nash back, but he can resurrect what they've lost with B.E. and help Natalie get back on track. ... He's kind of a mess in the sense that he's not an evil guy. Legally, I guess he's not responsible -- he didn't do it on purpose; Jared was essentially defending Natalie. But he feels responsible, and along with that, he ruined B.E." -- John Brotherton (Jared), SID 6/30/08
"While the Tess/Natalie/Tina story is delightfully soapy and Bree Williamson is commanding the screen as Tess, there's still a gaping void: Nash's absence. OLTL could have told the same kind of revenge tale if Nash had gotten so badly hurt that he'd lapsed into a coma, leaving the door open for him to return -- and wake up to Tess, the woman he fell in love with in the first place. Imagine the horror and remorse Jessica would feel upon realizing that she'd done all these terrible things to her family as Tess and all for naught. What if Nash, driven by love, helped Tess cover up her crimes or had to choose between Jess and Tess? Instead, after spending vaulable screen time torturing and finally reuniting the lovers, OLTL has left Jessica and Tess without a soul mate, and that's just tragic." -- Soap Opera Digest editorial, SOD 9/30/08
