Show of Support (Soaps In Depth 9/12/06)

When it comes to daytime's biggest time of the year, Bree Williamson (Jessica/Tess) knows she's going to enjoy herself. "I look forward to the Emmys," she acknowledges. "They're always a fun time." But one thing that did disappoint her was the lack of recognition for One Life to Live when the nominations were announced earlier this year. "It was a little bittersweet because Renee [Elise Goldsberry, Evangeline] was nominated [for Outstanding Supporting Actress], but our show wasn't," Williamson recalls. "And I thought it was a huge oversight because OLTL did amazing stuff last year." While the actress did enjoy the Emmys as usual, she was sad about one outcome during the telecast. "It's because Renee didn't win," she admits. But even though her talented friend and co-star didn't nab the award, she has no hard feelings about the soap that did get many of the acting prizes that night. "I really like Guiding Light as a show," says Williamson. "and they really cleaned up at the Emmys -- I was super happy for them."
