Thumbs Down! Force Feeding (Soap Opera Digest 7/18/06)

OLTL knows it has a good thing going with Tess/Nash, so it's taking its time with the DID story. The problem, however, is one that has always been there: What do you do once you achieve integration?

It seems OLTL is holding off on that decision until it can set the stage for post-integration by giving us a lot of Claudia/Nash scenes. In doing so, the show took Nash out of Llanview (to protect Brennan from Reston, even though her great-uncle is the police commissioner) and had him running around in a pointless story with Claudia, which seemed aimed at showing us how she is no longer crazy and evil, but is actually sweet and sober. It was way too much screen time between a newbie and Nash, a near newbie himself. Instead of heightening the drama surrounding the end of the DID story, it felt like a clumsy attempt to shoehorn a new character into the fold.
