Can Claudia Nab Nash? (Soaps In Depth 7/4/06)

Since following Nash to Llanview, One Life to Live's Claudia has done her best to supposedly start over, including getting a job at Capricorn from uneasy ally Antonio. But what are her real intentions in town? "Her ultimate goal is, of course, to get Nash back," admits headwriter Dena Higley. "That's what fuels her fire, and she knows that if she behaves badly, she'll get male attention -- from Nash or Daddy -- and that's what she really needs." So, did her relationship growing up with Mr. Reston really screw up the fragile singer for years to come? "He pretty much ignored her up until the point where she needed protection when Nash hurt hur," Higley reveals. "And that's a very dysfunctional way to raise your children, when the only way they get attention is when they're messed up." So what are the odds now of Claudia recreating a romance with her former beau? "She feels as if she has a pretty good chance," points out Higley," because he's in love with somebody that doesn't really exist. Claudia exists -- so that's a leg up on Tess."
