Tess & Jess Fight In Labor! (Soaps In Depth 5/9/06)

As Tess struggles during labor this week on One Life to Live, a reemerging Jessica positions to take over. WIth Tess in a vulnerable state, will she be able to withstand the emotional onslaught of Viki's daughter? And if the battle continues, will their unborn child become a casualty in their internal war?

Jessica Jockeys For Control
When it becomes apparent that Tess has gone into labor, Jessica comes out from the shadows and tries to help her alter during this difficult time. However, Jessica has another agenda, as she tries to regain control of the expectant body.

As the two fight it out, their loved ones remain in the dark about the power struggle taking place. Clint and Nash begin to discuss the upcoming birth, and Tess' dad voices his concerns over what it'll do to Jessica's mental state.

But everyone soon learns about Tess' labor development and rushes to her side. Still embattled, Tess refuses to surrender control, while wondering how long she can withstand Jessica's overtures.

Dorian Tells a Whopper
While Tess continues to deal with Jessica and the baby, Dorian finds an opportunity to drive a wedge between her rival and Clint. She hints to Viki that the unimaginable has happened -- she's slept with Clint! Horrified, Viki runs for answers to Clint, who swears that the unholdy deed never occured. However, he does take note of Viki's jealous reaction and wonders if it's a sign of his ex-wife's true feelings for him.

Focusing back on the childbirth, Jessica's parents discuss the implications of their daughter not being present for the birth, and they wonder if there is any way that she can return in time for the experience.

My Two Moms
While Tess continues to experience labor paints, Jessica remains poised to win back control. As the standoff ensues, Viki tries to impose a cease-fire in the mental civil war. She tells Tess that she and Jessica must work together for a successful delivery; otherwise, the unimaginable might happen. While not wanting to cede control, Tess realizese that this is one battle she can't afford to lose. As Antonio and Nash stand by, the split personalities each brace for childbirth. However, has the damage already been done, both to themselves and the baby? And who will ultimately seize control once it's finally revealed who the mother is?
