Tess Confronts Her Past (Soap Opera Digest 4/4/06)

Now that her secret is out, a frightened Tess decides she needs to confront the sicko who abused her as a child. She locats him at a nursing home and pays him a not-so-friendly visit.

"She's feeling a whole bunch of emotions, and when she sees him, they're heightened even more," previews Bree Williamson (Jessica). "The only closure or retribution or justice is that he's lying there on deaths's door as she's talking to him. So, emotions build and she tries to smother him with a pillow, but Nash comes in and stops her."

This guy isn't tops on Nash's list, either, and soon Nash has a change of heart about what to do. "At first, he's like, 'No, no, no! The mother of my child can't be in prison,'" explains Forbes March (Nash). "But just as he is trying to cover up the evidence of what [Tess] was about to do, he has a flashback to the tape and he snaps and tires to kill him himself." Tess provides the voice of reason.

"Killing him would change [her and Nash] forever," Williamson offers. "As tainted as they are already as a couple, this would be something they couldn't ever wash clean, so she stops him."

Tess and Nash leave without blood on their hands, but now that the big secret is out, they're both concerned about Tess's future. "If Jessica and Tess both come to terms with [what happened], there'd be no more need for Tess," March sighs.
