Layla: Not at the moment, but it is his club.
Nash: Oh, it's just my luck. I didn't know. I just -- I heard the
club was donating all its bar receipts to a cause I care about.
Layla: Great, so you can write a check and take off.
Nash: No. I'm going to contribute, but I'm staying here, and I'm not
leaving Llanview. This is exactly where I belong right now.
Layla: I know what it's like to be the newbie in town. No one gets
you.
Nash: Yeah, everybody thinks I'm like a big troublemaker, when all
I really want to do is just --
Layla: Live your life?
Nash: Exactly.
Nash: Keep the change.
Layla: A hundred bucks?
Nash: Yeah, well --
Layla: Are you for real?
Nash: Like I said, it's a cause I care about.
Layla: Obviously.
Nash: I've been lucky. I don't know anyone who died of AIDS. But I
know what it's like to be on your own, no family, no home. Those little kids
in Africa, orphans -- if I could give more, I would.
Layla: I don't get why you want to torture yourself by watching the
woman you love dance with another man.
Nash: I just -- I keep telling myself it's a matter of timing.
Nash: One more.
Layla: Are you sure that's a good idea?
Nash: It's for a good cause.
Layla: And with all the donating that you've been doing, you're feeling
no pain at all, right?
Nash: Hadn't even noticed.
Layla: Nash, don't --
Nash: Don't what? Make another mistake? Who the hell are you to tell
me how to live my life, huh?
Layla: You know what? I am sorry. I do not mean to --
Nash: You mean well. You're trying to help. And maybe I am making
a fool out of myself, huh? Wanting somebody who won't even look at me. But
I'm willing to take the risk. I'm willing to risk everything.
Nash: I mean it, Layla, if something is going on with you and Antonio
or was going on --
Layla: Do you honestly think I would waste my time pining after some
guy who chases a girl clear across the country who doesn't want him?
Nash: Yeah.
Nash: Hey, you seen Jessica tonight?
Layla: Okay, Antonio's in a good mood for a change, so if you came
here to start trouble, you should go somewhere else and drown your sorrows.
Nash: Wow, talk about a dedicated employee.
