What is the best gift you've ever given? (SID 5/13/03)
"I was up until 4 o'clock in the morning making tapes [for a scavenger hunt
for sister Tarra's birthday]. The first thing I gave her was a Walkman
and the first tape. She had to listen to each tape to find the clue
saying where to go next. I ran around all that morning to different
stores asking them to keep the clues behind the cash register, and when she
came she had to say, 'Hi, my name is Tarra and it's my birthday,' they'd
give her the tape. The first stop was at our hairdresser, where she
got daisies. The second stop was at this little place that has the
best falafel in Toronto. It was fun. [All told,] she got flowers,
falafel, chocolate cake, a belt and a shirt!"
If Bree could play any other ABC character... (SID 6/10/03)
"I'd be Roxy. I think she's fabulous. She has the best lines and she
gets to be outrageous every single, solitary day, and I think that's great."
Do you have a tatoo? What is it? (SID 9/16/03)
"Yes. It's on my back, so they just cover it up with makeup for the
show. My sister Tarra has the same tattoo on her back. It's a
daisy on one side, and a hibiscus on the other and the stems make the infinity
symbol. The daisy represents me, and the hibiscus represents Tarra,
and the stems represent the connection between us."
What defunct television show do you miss the most, and why? (SID
2/17/04)
"The Cosby Show was such a funny show. I still love watching the reruns.
And when Sex and the City goes off the air after this season, I'm going
to be devastated."
You have been named head of daytime. What is the
first thing you do? (SOD 2/17/04)
"Oh, my gosh, that is such an awesome responsibility; I would definitely
want to start out with something small. How about adding some healthy foods
to the breakfast table in the studio? Right now, they give us doughnuts,
and every morning I can't resist eating one! They need to add some yogurt
or fruit, especially since most actors are trying to stay in shape. I would
do that and then I would move on to something more challenging
[laughs]."
If you had one piece of advice to give someone who wanted to be an actor,
what would it be? (SID 4/27/04)
"Always be as prepared as you possibly can be."
What is the household chore you dread most and why? (SID 8/31/04)
"Cooking. So I don't cook at all!"
Bree's all-time favorite scene to play was... (SID 11/23/04)
"My favorite scene to play was the heart gala. It was fun because there
were a lot of subtle things I could play, like drinking champagne and rolling
my eyes."
Why is Jessica so reluctant to reunite with Antonio?
(SOD 1/18/05)
"[Antonio] made her feel awful, like a child. Even before he walked out on
her, he just made her feel not important enough to have in his
life."
Who in your cast would have the most entertaining reality show based on
their life and why? (SID 2/1/05)
"Melissa Archer (Natalie). She's just so funny and nutty. She
has no filter -- anything she thinks comes out of her mouth. If she
were married, it'd be like Jessica [Simpson] and Nick [Lachey]. Everybody
in the world would fall in love with her because she's awesome."
Who is your show's on-set practical joker? (SOD
2/1/05)
"I wasn't there when this happened, but it is the funniest story. Mark Derwin
[ex-Ben] apparently was a jokester, and one time, the wardrobe and makeup
people got together to play a joke on him. They said that somewhere in the
script it said that he was going to have to play in drag. So they told him
that they had to show producers what he'd look like before the actual [shooting]
day. So he runs up [in drag], interrupts a production meeting, walks in and
says, 'Okay, guys, I'm ready. Do I look okay?' They're all like, 'What?'
They had no idea what he was talking about [laughs]. There was no script
where he had to dress up in drag."
Do Jessica and Antonio have a chance at reconciling?
(SOD 2/8/05)
"It's a very tumultuous time for [them]. It isn't going to heal overnight.
You're going to see a different side of Jessica. Who knows where it's going?"
Which of your co-stars could win on Jeopardy and why? (SID
2/15/05)
"Tuc [Watkins, David]. Well, I don't know if he'd win on Jeopardy.
He's really smart, but there's a difference between being smart and
[knowing] trivia. Erika Slezak (Viki) would totally win at Jeopardy.
She knows everything. She has a plethora of knowledge."
Who do you hope wins an Oscar? (3/1/05)
"Don Chadle was incredible in Hotel Rwanda. He was so moving
and convincing in that role. Best movie for me is Sideways --
I laughed so hard I almost fell out of my seat."
What's your best lunch option at work? (SID 3/29/05)
"Joseph's. It's an all-natural health food store that just opened up
[at] 72nd and Broadway. It's a little gem. Everything is made
fresh. They just have a little setup in the front, and ever day they
have a special, whether it's vegetarian lasagna or moussaka or whatever...and,
they deliver now!"
Who is the best dancer on your cast? (SID 4/14/05)
"Kamar [de los Reyes, Antonio]. He's a great leader. It's like
the love scenes -- I'm just there as a prop. Anytime anyone says, 'Oh,
your love scenes are really sexy,' I'm like, 'Go and congratulate Kamar.
It has nothing to do with me at all!' Same with the dancing scenes.
It has nothing to do with me at all; it's 100 percent Kamar."
Which of your co-stars would do the best on Fear Factor? (SID
5/10/05)
"Me! Of course, are you kidding me I would love to be on Fear Factor. That
would be the best. I have a really bad appetite, but you know, it's
all about mind over matter -- I could do it. I'd actually like the
first stunt when you get to drive cars over buildings and fly in the air
and do crazy stuff. So, yeah, I would win at Fear Factor -- if they
would just give me the chance."
What can we expect in the aftermath of Jessica's
battling DID? (SOD 6/14/05)
"It's totally gonna change the character forever. I think that maybe this
will help the audience accept why Jessica made some of those not-so-strong
choices over the past year."
Have you ever had a psychic moment? (SID 7/12/05)
"I really don't think I have, but an ex-boyfriend, who I am still good friends
with, has weird dreams all the time. He calls me often, saying he had
one about me -- very intense. And a lot of the time it will be about
something he didn't know about, but [that] was very much going on in my life."
Do you have any dating horror stories? (SID
9/27/05)
"I went to a film festival film with this guy who was just a nightmare. He
got up to use his cell phone and missed the first half of the film, then
was asking me what's going on. Then he brought me to this dinner party that
was horrific with the worst people I've ever met."
How did you get your name? (SOD 10/4/05)
"There was a girl on Charlie's Angels named Sabrina [played by Kate Jackson],
and they always used to call her Bree for short. So, my mom always
liked Bree."
What does Bree remember about her audition? (SID 11/22/05)
"I wasn't nervous until I got to the studio. I screen-tested with Nathaniel
Marston (Michael), who was really nice. And suddenly, I was so nervous,
I thought I was going to vomit. [Afterward] Nathaniel just looked at me and
said, 'You got it.' And then I wandered around New York, and it was
agony. I didn't want to be like, 'Oh, I really like it here.'"
If you could trade lives with a cast member for one day, with whom would
you choose to swtich? (SID 12/20/05)
"Robin Strasser (Dorian), 'cause she has a great house -- a kickass brownstone.
It's goregous. She had a party there and I wanted to lock myself
in one of the rooms and hold myself hostage."
Why does Jessica go to Niki for help? (SOD 12/20/05)
"It's just not in Jessica's nature to sit back and watch the chips fall where
they may. She's going to go out and chase down the answers."
Is Jessica scared of what a paternity test might find? (SOD
1/3/06)
"She still thinks the baby could be Nash's, but I'm sure in her head she
sees herself and Antonio raising the kid with Uncle Nash coming over to visit."
What's the coolest thing you've gotten to do as a result of your soap
job? (SOD 1/17/06)
"I got to speak at the UN with a group called UNIFEM last year for the
International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. It
was probably one of the coolest things I ever did. I also got to go
to the Democratic Convention last year in Boston and had dinner with Gloria
Steinem. That was for Planned Parenthood. Because I have the
soap job and there's sort of that celebrity attatched to it -- I feel so
weird saying that -- I can do all these really, really awesome, fun events."
Who has the messiest dressing room at your show? (SOW 1/17/06)
"I don't usually go into other people's dressing rooms. I'd say Heather
(Tom, Kelly) has a pretty messy dressing room. Melissa (Archer, Natalie)
has a very messy dressing room. I share one with Ilene Kristen (Roxy)
and ours is pretty messy, too. She has a lot of stuff."
Did Tess mean to destroy the results of the amnio test? (SOD
1/31/06)
"Tess is very smart, so she would've wanted to hold onto it to use it to
control the situation. She destroyed it in a fit of passion."
Who on your cast is the biggest flirt? (SID 1/31/06)
"Dan Gauthier (Kevin). He's great, he's hilarious."
How would you describe your personal style? (SID 2/14/06)
"I like edge, funky, that kind of stuff. The focus should be fun. I
love clothing. I actually had a retail store for a little while. My
sister and I owned it. It's called Moondoggie. It's in Wasaga
Beach [Ontario, Canada]."
How does Tess feel now that Nash has seen the tape
of her abuse? (SOD 4/11/06)
"She's obviously destroyed by that, because to have your boyfriend and father
of your child know this about you is one thing, but [for him] to see it is
something else."
