Niki and Tess Hit the Road (Soap Opera Weekly 2/7/06)

It's Niki and Tess' not-so-excelltn adventure this week on OLTL, when the unlikely "mother and daughter" go on a road trip. "It's not Thelma & Louise, by any stretch of the imagination," chuckles head writer Dena Higley.

Not only do the women hate each other, but Niki knows how to push Tess' buttons. "She makes Tess start to think that maybe, just maybe, Nash has fallen in love with Jessica. This plays into Tess' theory that 'Jessica is the one everybody loves, and I'm the unlovable one.'"

So, thinking Nash is history, Tess hitches a ride with Niki, who decides to go on the run "because she wants her own life," explains Higley.

Unfortunately, their car skids off the road during a snowstorm and the two end up stranded at an abandoned cabin...where the mittens come off. "They don't solve their problems because they hate each other," sighs Higley. "They really get going at each other."

Tess blames Niki for her existance. Never one to be outdone, Niki goads Tess into finally revealing her big secret.
