Is Jessica About To Leave For Good? (Soaps In Depth 4/11/06)

Ever since OLTL's Jessica first looked in a mirror and had party girl Tess offer up tips on how to have fun, viewers have found themselves drawn to the bad side of Llanview's good girl. But if only one can "survive," who will it be?

The In Depth Story: Fans aren't the only ones who have taken to Nash's spitfire of a girlfriend. "I'm very protective of Tess," admits headwriter Dena Higley. So much so that the scribe is hoping to keep the character on the canvas for a very long time. "There's an idea in the works that would allow us never to lose [the character]," she previews. "Of course, we can never evaporate the character of Jessica, because she's a Buchanan. But I think it's pivotally important that Tess remain in some form."

There are, however, changes in store for the troublemaker...starting when her baby is born. "She becomes a bit more compassionate, a little more understanding. All the things Niki told her her alters could never be. But Tess, with all of her get-in-your-face feistiness, is not going to be watered down in any way."
