Nash's Ex Ready To Stir Up Trouble! (Soaps In Depth 4/25/06)

One Life to Live newcomer Kerry Butler (Claudia) returns to Llanview on Tuesday, April 18, as Nash's ex plans to destroy his life with Tess!

The In Depth Story: Butler is no stranger to OLTL, having first appeared during a brief stint as a rocker named Heather back in 2000. "It's been great to be back," says Butler, "but the first two days were really hard -- like throwing me into the fire!" Those January shoots were a virtual showcase for Butler, who took Claudia from raving loon to calculating schemer.

Shortly after taping those impressive scenes, the actress was offered a contract, despite the fact that Claudia initially was meant to be a short-run character. Having briefly appeared in late February, Claudia roars back onto the canvas this week with a plan to destroy Tess and Nash's relationship. Addressing rumors that her character will be teaming with Antonio to achieve a mutual goal, Butler thinks her character will actually wind up getting to know several Llanview residents. "I have scenes with him," she previews, "but we don't know what's going to happen. [The producers] told me, 'We're going to throw you around there and see what sticks.'"

Even after being put on contract, Butler admits that she grew nervous waiting for her next tape dates to arrive. "I was like, 'What's happening?'" she says with a laugh. "I kept thinking I was going to get fired or something -- like, 'Oh no, they made a mistake!' But OLTL said that they didn't expect to put me on contract, and they write so far in advance that they just had to figure out what they were going to do with me!"
