NASH'S BIOGRAPHY

[Note: This biography will cover what is known about Nash's past before July 7th, 2005, which is when he first aired on "One Life to Live." Because we don't know, at this point in time, anything about Nash's family, this biography is very incomplete.]

Nash Brennan had a difficult childhood.  Even now, as an adult, he doesn't like to talk about it.  All he's ever said on the subject is that he was raised in the foster care system, and as a result never had a family to call his own.

Back then, Nash sustained himself on his life long dream of eventually owning and operating his own winery in Napa Valley, California.

When Nash was in his early-20's he was hurting for money and living a modest life in New York City.  One night while he was out clubbing, he met a wealthy socialite named Claudia Reston. Nash quickly realized that Claudia was spending her family's money as if it didn't even matter.  He decided that if she wanted to throw some money his way, he wouldn't complain.  That was the basis of his decision to hook up with Claudia for easy sex and money.

Nash and Claudia dated for six months.  Nash was never in love with Claudia. In fact, he never took their relationship all that seriously.  He didn't like her most of the time, as he considered her a spoiled brat.  And he didn't feel badly about taking her for a "long, expensive ride" because that was the kind of person he was back then: a man who had never known love.  Nash was also eager to remain involved with the Restons because they were a wine family and had been for generations.  Keeping in mind his dream of running his own winery, he learned a lot about the business from Claudia's father, George Reston.

As Nash continued to use Claudia, he failed to realize that she was genuinely in love with him.  Whenever he asked her for money, she gave it to him eagerly.  That is, until George Reston found out.  George cut Nash's funds off and Nash, with no incentive to remain in the relationship, dumped Claudia.  Claudia, devastated, attempted suicide by downing a bottle of pills.  The attempt was thwarted -- she was found and rushed to the emergency room.  Claudia then had a nervous breakdown as a result of all she'd been through.  She subsequently became hooked on the pills she was given at the hospital.  George Reston discovered Claudia's addiction and put her in a rehab clinic, where she remained for several months.

Nash, shaken by his experience with Claudia, beat himself up over the way he'd hurt her.  The Restons in particular were not about to let him forget what he'd done -- they were out for his blood.  Nash realized that he would need a powerful lawyer to go up against the Restons on his behalf.

One hot day in July 2005, he found out about a party in the Hamptons being thrown by just such a lawyer: Bruce Bartlett, a friend of one of Nash's buddies.  Nash resolved to go to the party, where he planned to try to convince Bruce to go to bat for him with the Restons.  On the way there, he met a beautiful woman named Tess, who tried to sweet-talk him into buying her lunch....
